Prepares intermediate students for the experience of a full orchestra performing with increasingly challenging music.  Orchestra is comprised of violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

Teresa Nguyen, Sinfonietta Conductor

 

Teresa Nguyen is currently the orchestra director at Tom C. Clark High School in San Antonio. This is her tenth year as a teacher in the Northside Independent School District, having also taught at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Helotes. Mrs. Nguyen’s orchestras have won numerous awards locally and nationally at festivals in Winter Park, Colorado, South Padre Island, and Dallas. Her orchestras also carry consecutive superior ratings and Sweepstakes honors for UIL orchestra contest.

 

Mrs. Nguyen has a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin, and has studied viola privately with Roger Myers and Allyson Dawkins. Along with teaching, she plays violin and viola for the Mid-Texas Symphony, Corpus Christi Symphony, and Victoria Symphony Orchestras, and the Oak Leaf String Quartet. In the summer, she travels to Mexico, where she operates a String Project for underprivileged children through the Red Cross. When she is not teaching, Teresa enjoys reading, horseback riding, outdoor sports, and traveling.
